Mining Free Wildlife Corridors
Project Statement
Mining is proposed in the Western Ghats of the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra. 32 mining leases would be operational in the wildlife corridor. These mining activities woud destroy the green corridor and thus endanger the biodiversity present .

Project Outcome
1.The Honourable HC of Bombay orders a complete ban on tree feeling in two talukas, ie Sawantwadi and Dodamarg
2.State govt. filed its reply admitting that the area is ecologically sensitive. Case is being heard. Media covers the campaign.
3.Court directs the state govt. to submit the final proposal for declaring the area as an Eco-Sensitive Area (ESA).
