Project Statement
The Government of Maharashtra is planning to use the land in Aarey Colony Mumbai as a location for the Car Shed of the Metro III Project. The use of 62 Hectares is envisaged.
The use of Aarey Colony land for this purpose will start a process of degrading a space that forms a major lung for the City of Mumbai.
Project Intervention
Vanashakti has moved the High Court and sought the cooperation of individuals and groups who are like minded
Project Outcome
The issues are still very much open and the fight with the Government continues
