Uma Shanker Singh is an accomplished individual with over three decades of service in the Indian Forest Service. He possesses expertise in Sustainable Forest Management, Forest Economics, Public Administration, and more. He holds degrees including an M.Sc. in Botany, M.Sc. in Forestry, and has pursued advanced studies in environmental impact assessment. His career highlights include serving as a Director at the Planning Commission of India (now NITI Aayog), as well as roles involving conservation, rejuvenation, and sustainable use of natural resources. Uma Shanker Singh has received several honors, contributed to numerous committees, and participated in a variety of national and international training programs. His research activities involve mentoring PhD students, publishing research papers, participating in panel discussions, and contributing articles to magazines.

Team Leaders

Kavita Mallya has a M.Sc. in Environmental Science from Mumbai University, she’s also had experience working with the BNHS and the CAT. For her Master thesis, she has developed a marine pollution detection proxy using marine microfossil working with the Micropaleontology Laboratory of the National Institute of Oceanography (NIO), Goa. She is an experienced field biologist with expertise in birds and reptiles.

Ahmed Ali, a student of Acting from Anupam Kher’s ‘Actor Prepares’. He hails from rural India and as a choreographer and theater person his work is on par with his urban counterparts. He has a decade long experience of working with grassroot level NGOs in interior Maharashtra. To his credit are students from interior Maharashtra that he trained in theatre and dance who are now absorbed in mainstream theatre and films.

Pawan Patil, a graduate in Zoology, is keenly engaged in forest, mangrove and coastal conservation efforts of the organisation, ensuring effective implementation of the same.

Firdos Khan, a post graduate in Environmental Sciences, is a Butterflies Identification expert and is engaged in Education, Outreach and CSR activities, ensuring effective implementation of the same.

Legal Advisor

Zaman Ali, a law graduate (B.A.LLB) from Jindal Global Law School, NCR Delhi. Having completed various courses on business, media and arbitration laws in India, USA and Germany, a keen interest in environmental laws allows him to give a holistic approach to environmental issues in all sectors.
